Thai Airways Market – Quality Brands in Low Prices

Thai Airways Market – Quality Brands in Low Prices , Millions of middle class people live in Bangkok, yet as tourists, you hardly get to meet them. However, every tourist can still see their trails through the wide variety of new, innovative cars on the routes, and the huge shopping centers filled with quality products and high-end brands (most of the big shopping centers are not located in tourist areas and points of interest).

The middle-class Thai people (and certainly upper class locals) enjoy living the good life; they love tours and excursions, entertainment and leisure, brands and restaurants. They hang out, shop and dine in trendy local spots, and hardly mingle with tourists.

A middle-class Thai won’t go to MBK and certainly won’t visit Pratunam markets. He would feel awfully uncomfortable to come to work, dine in restaurants or go out clubbing in a low-quality, fake brand copy, which can be found in the above places and recognized from a mile’s distance.  On the other hand, a middle-class Thai is no millionaire or ‘sucker’ who shops at Paragon or Emporium on a regular basis; he won’t succumb to overpricing, so where does he buy? In markets like ‘the Market behind Thai Airways’ –  Talat Lang Kan Bin Thai, which is also known as Talat Lung Perm.

Veteran Thai residents surely remember the beautiful Thai Airways building, which you could see from the taxi window on your way to and from the airport. The Thai Airways Market  is located right behind it, on Viphavadee Rd, soi 22.

The big Thai Airways Market  is completely unknown to tourists, yet it is certainly known to all locals, as it is one of the most famous and popular markets in Bangkok. You will find here various shops which sell high-end commodities and well-known brands, in far lower prices than in Paragon and similar shopping centers.

You will find here mostly clothing and footwear shops, bags and other fashion accessories, but also toys and various other stores. One of the market’s main advantages, is that you’ll also find here plus size clothes – which may be hard to find in regular stores. You’ll also find here a wide selection of winter clothes. Rumor has it that a large part of the commodity sold here, somehow comes from the factories which produce high-fashion brands.

The specific part of the market next to Thai Airways building is not air-conditioned. You will Thai Airways Marketfind there, apart from the fashion stores, many toy shops etc.  Further along the market, you will find a trendy area with many clothing, footwear and fashion-accessory shops – all air-conditioned and pleasant. As in any Thai market, you will also find here an area dedicated to food and drinks, with restaurants, coffee shops and food stands.

The passage between the shops is rather narrow, which made it harder for me to get decent filming angels and take pictures, but I tried my best to provide you with a glimpse of the market.
