Ko Samui Night Markets

Ko Samui Night Markets ,  when evening falls, every night in different areas of Ko Samui – certain streets are closed for traffic as they turn into bubbly pedestrian zones, with various cuisines and clothing stalls, souvenirs, watches and trinket kiosks. In this article you’ll find information on the markets’ activity hours and locations on the different days of the week.

These markets are no different than others across Thailand, but the nightly pedestrian zone turn the happening into a fun, pleasant and comfortable attraction. You can walk around the different stalls and taste from the wide variety of foods, sip a drink at one of the small pubs, shop in the many kiosks or just enjoy the bubbly market atmosphere.

The following markets are active from 5/6 PM until 11 PM, in pedestrian zones where no car traffic is allowed (as opposed to other markets in Ko Samui).

Fridays – the night market is held at the Fisherman’s village in the eastern side of Bophut. This is probably the biggest, most popular market in Ko Samui, where you’ll find diverse food, clothes, sunglasses, watches, hand crafts, souvenirs and small boutiques with unique items.

Considering its huge popularity, you should expect the market to be packed full of tourists and locals – so take your time and enjoy the fun atmosphere.

The market is located on Bophut beach road next to the Fisherman’s Village, and active between 5-11 PM.

Saturdays and Wednesdays – the night market is held at Chaweng next to Central Festival Shopping Center. It’s slightly more commercialized than the other night markets.

Sundays – the night market is large and bubbly and held at Lamai beach across several intersecting streets. Here too you’ll find various stalls offering t-shirts in 100 baht, watches, souvenirs, handcrafts, diverse food stalls and much more…

The market is held in Lamai, on the way to the local beach, diagonally from McDonald’s.

The market is active between 5-11 PM.

Thursdays A smaller, quieter night market is held across some hundreds of meters at the center of Lamai, by tChina Town (at its end you’ll find a Chinese temple)
