Choosing a Hotel -Ratchada Pisek Street

Choosing a Hotel -Ratchada Pisek Street ,  Ratchada Pisek Street is one of Bangkok’s largest and modern streets, with many excellent hotels, shopping centers, cultural centers, restaurants and clubs. The street is a continuation of Asok Street and the MRT subway runs the entire length of it, allowing quick and easy access to its many attractions.

Time is too short to elaborate on all that Ratchada Pisek has to offer but I’ll mention, in short, a few of the most popular. The Thai Cultural Center, Siam Niramit and Fortune Town computer and gadget department store (which I personally think is much better than Pantip), Esplanade –  a modern shopping and entertainment complex with numerous shops, ice-skating rink,  bowling alley and 13 cinemas, Huay Kwang Night Market –a nice market open till late night / early morning (4:30) …. pubs, discos and plenty of clubs for men. The RCA mega club is also located here.

Just recently, one of Bangkok’s major and impressive shopping centers opened its doors here, Central Plaza Grand Rama 9. The famous Night Market ” Suan Lum Night Bazaar” has relocated to this street and is due to re-open soon. Ratchada Pisek Street has numerous, excellent hotels at reasonable prices, including The Emerald; Grand Mercure; Swissotel Le Concorde Hotel, and many others.

In conclusion:  A great place for those seeking to stay in one of Bangkok’s  less common areas amongst tourists, but still central enough to enjoy all major sites.
